J1’s vs Locals – WHO’S WINNING?

In the last blog post Anita and I talked about the level in which the “WORKING” “PO” class folks have been pushed to the bottom, while the J1’s and H2B’s are running atop.

When I speak of winning, I really don’t know what the prize is. It could be winning the “TITLE” as the “HELP.” This is the most “PRESTIGIOUS” and “HONORED” title offered to us “PO” folks in Branson.

****LET US SEE TOGETHER WHO IS REALLY WINNING****

Neither are successful at “APPLYING AND RECEIVING” “UNEMPLOYMENT” benefits in Branson. I believe only those that “FIT” the description can successfully accomplish this feat.

From my vantage point, and where I sit, I see a system designed to deny many working class “PO” folks from receiving their duly earned money.

In a football game, usually the winner is the team with the “MOST” points at the end of the “FOURTH” quarter.

Branson has designed a work environment where possibly no one in the “LOW-END” hotel holes can ever achieve and master the “UNEMPLOYMENT” intake program game.

****HOW COULD THAT BE****

The “FOUR” quarters are “DIVIDED” amongst “TWO” groups of people.

GROUP 1“LOCALS” – They work “UP” to “THREE” quarters – Some with very few working hours. Many work in the food industry. The same industry visitors to Branson rely on. Therefore, they will never be able to apply.

GROUP 2“J1’s and H2B’s” – Work “ONE” quarter and sent back home – most lose working hours within days after arriving, while some lose their jobs completely. – Therefore, they will never be able to apply.

****SO LET’S DO THE MATH****

“THREE QUARTERS” TO THE LOCALS AND “ONE QUARTER” TO THE J1’s and H2B’s3 + 1 = 4 QUARTERS. “ALL WORKERS ARE UNDERPAID AND OVERWORKED”

In the workforce, it takes “4″ quarters for a person to achieve happiness in Branson’s employees “UNEMPLOYMENT” game. PROBLEM WITH THAT IS CERTAIN BUSINESS OWNERS WILL ONLY AFFORD THAT OPPORTUNITY TO A SELECT FEW.

The “DEPT. OF LABOR” states on their website;

In order to qualify as an insured worker, a claimant must:

1) Lose his/her job through no fault of the claimant OR quit for a valid reason related to the work or the employer.

2) Make at least $2,250At least $1,500 during one of the calendar quarters, and at least $750 during the remainder of the year—from an insured employer during the base period  

-AND-

His/her total base period wages must be at least 1.5 times his/her highest quarter wages.

-OR-

He/she must make at least $19,500 during two of the four quarters.

****END RESULTS****

Branson has stayed true to the format mentioned above and knows “EXACTLY” when your work “HOURS” should be cut.

CERTAIN BUSINESSES BY DESIGN ARE MAKING SURE YOU “THE WORKING PO” STAY BELOW WHAT IS REQUIRE TO “ACHEIVE” ELIGIBILITY.

****THIS IS HOW IT WORKS****

“BUSINESSES” start “REDUCING” “LOCALS” work hours, in a time the Locals need more hours, instead of less. Exactly what we are seeing “NOW” as the J1’s and H2B’s began their transition into the Branson workforce.

“PAINFULLY” the “LOCALS” are being “PUSHED” aside “WITHOUT” unemployment assistance and/or housing because they don’t have enough “QUARTERS” in, and/or income to stay afloat. “ULTIMATELY FORCED TO THE STREET OR OUT OF TOWN.”

WHAT DO THESE HARD WORKING “PO” FOLKS LIKE ANITA AND I HAVE IN COMMON?

Both are required to dwell in places that are FILTHY, STINKY, and NASTY, with roaches and outdated furniture. Both are subjected to losing work hours “WITHOUT” notice. -AND- Both are “EXPECTED” to pay incredibly “HIGH” ass prices for these “LOW-END” shit holes. EXAMPLE: (3 Humans and 1 Pet = 4 Heartbeats for a GRAND TOTAL OF $1600.00) in these shit holes.

When the J1’s and H2B’s leave Branson and go home, they are just as worn down and “BROKEN” as the “LOCALS.”

So people, please take time to follow the guidelines above and visit the “Dept. of Labor” website to better understand and ascertain whether or “NOT” Branson is a good fit for you and your family.

You can make a better informed decision if you know whether or not you meet the guidelines for unemployment. Because these are the standards used to make it “IMPOSSIBLE” for the “PO” working class “LOCALS” to “APPLY” and “RECEIVE” their “UNEMPLOYMENT” checks. Especially, when your working hours are “CONSTANTLY” being cut.
