October 5, 2021 – Meeting At City Hall Building
At or about 7:20 p.m. my husband addressed the board. He asked a simple question, “What Is An Outsider?
My husband explained how an individual instructed us of a meeting that took place regarding my yard sales. My husband stated, “In that “Clandestine” meeting, people stated that my wife was an “OUTSIDER.“
Immediately, the “City” Attorney interrupted and injected his understanding of what “he” felt that person might have been saying. Good for him, addressing another person’s thought. He wanted to “debate” the non-debatable. That wasn’t the question.
My husband immediately turned away from the city attorney and got back to the business at hand, as my husband knew there is another arena for what the city attorney wanted to address.
“I WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR THAT CONVERSATION IF AND WHEN IT DOES ARISE.”
***** The mayor instructed the city attorney to let my husband speak.
MY HUSBAND: WHAT IS AN OUTSIDER?
MY HUSBAND: COME RIDE WITH ME
February 4, 2019 we arrived at the “Motel6” in Sullivan, MO. We paid $1320.00 per month to stay there due to the “CORONA VIRUS” as everything was shutting down, including housing.
In that time (18 months) stay, we have witnessed the local Churches delivering and dropping off many local and transients people as they were needing help. This is a good thing. But, upon being dropped off or delivered to the motel6, my wife became the “MOTEL6 Social Worker.” She provided clothes, food, water, hygiene items, as well as just conversation when needed. She even made sure that if they got sick, she gave them the proper advise, and also called the local ambulance service to transport if she did not transport. She assisted the Mangers at motel6 when they needed help both physical cleaning, and informative. She provided the information that would help them become more legit when hiring staff, as some things just felt shady. She provided food, and water to roofing company as they provided service for the motel6. She made the “MOTEL6” a family environment in times of pain and suffering, she made people feel good and smile.
All of this was happening as she was holding down burdensome jobs in this town trying keep them in touch with reality. Imagine the strength it takes to be part of a “COMMUNITY” lacking services so desperately needed for their own people. People are dying in the back of hotels, Police Officers going from hotel to hotel cleaning up this mess.
Every job that my wife accepted turned into a nightmare, but she always continued to share everything with those good people at motel6 and this community. Even with her “PROFESSIONAL” demeanor at work, Each job she took, failed her. People stop paying. She have had to write letters to CORPORATE OFFICES, MANAGERS, AND EVEN “LABOR BOARD” TO GET PAID. STILL “DENNY’S” OWES MY WIFE MONEY FROM 2019. They sent partial payment through “Paypal” to avoid litigation, after my wife wrote a letter to them.
So, from 2019, up to when she started selling these items MAY 2021, she have given away over $4,000 plus in products, scattered throughout this city/county and she continues to be fair about her business. In one haul, she filled up the jeep with over $800 worth of items and gave them to the manager at “Jack-in-the-Box” because she informed my wife that she had a lot of “grandchildren.” The supervisor made sure she was off every Tuesday, as that is my wife deal hunting day. But yet, my wife had to write a note to the “CORPORATE” office to get money that was owed to her. SAD THING.
Now, I had a talk with JT about the Motel6. I told JT we need to get those people from the back of that motel6. They are living in a “HOLE.”
When I toke the trash to the back where the dumpsters were located, it reminds me of “DEATH” “SADNESS” “PAIN” “SICKNESS” AND “SUFFERING.”
MY HUSBAND WENT ON TO SAY:
In case you don’t know my wife and I were asked to take over the Motel6 last June, 2020. When Motel6 manager confronted me about that I informed him, the manager at Motel6 “the people in the back would have to be moved, they can’t stay back there.
MY HUSBAND FURTHER STATED:
Let me take you inside my room after we were informed MOTEL6 needed my wife’s help.
My wife, (and men we know how women are), Anita got excited, and just out of no-where looked at me and said, “Dallas, why don’t we take the “BACK” of the motel6 and tear it down to level ground and then put beautiful grass and benches out for them to have a relaxing spot.
Then, we will bring everybody to the front to be able to better help them. We will get a social worker to come in each week to help identify their needs. But, we always keep them safe.
My wife said, I should talk with the “Police Chief” to see if there is anyway we can place all the transients and our local “homeless” people who need our help at the motel6 and change the name as it would become a non-profit organization to help keep our community safe.
I asked my wife what do we do with the other hotels.
My wife stated, “with the other hotels we provide another layer to help the “Police Chief” stay ahead of the game.
I said how would you do that?
My wife stated, when a person comes into our local hotels, they will be informed that their picture and pertinent information will be transmitted to our “Police Chief.”
I stated you can’t do that.
My wife stated, why not, they take pictures of everyone when they walk the halls or enter their place of business, so what’s wrong with us informing “visitors” up front what our intentions are.
That way, the good people will pay and stay, and those who are here for no good reasons will move to the next town. WE TAKE PICTURE AND SEND TO OUR CHIEF, KNOW YOU ARE SAFE IN OUR TOWN.
My wife said, Dallas when that picture is transmitted to the “Chief” I’m safe, and the people are safe, because the “Police Chief” allowed us to feel safe. START A “PILOT” Program, crunch the numbers and keep everyone safe. Make sure you keep our “Police Chief” safe because our officers need him as well as the people in this community.
MY HUSBAND CLOSED WITH:
Does this sound like an “OUTSIDER” to you, OR does that sound like a person who is “All” in for this community? “CITY AND COUNTY.”
It appears to me that my wife is all in more-so, then some people who have been here all their lives.
Does an “OUTSIDER” think in this manner? and, You want us out?
And just so you know, I’m here to coach a team and take to the “Little League World Series” right here out of Sullivan. “I TOLD JT THIS UPON MEETING HIM. I signed up to coach in 2019 and the virus hit. I have a mission, and I am going to complete that mission. AND YOU WANT US OUT!
At that point my husband and I along with our boys proceeded to exit the building with nothing else being said.
My husband is a very serious man and baseball is his love. I would “NOT” be surprised if he were to pull off, a visit to the “LITTLE LEAGUE” world series.
One thing that was very obvious and noticeable is for the amount of cars that were visible that night in the parking lot, there were only a hand full of people in the meeting room. I suspect most were in the back LISTENING and OBSERVING. GOOD FOR YOU!
Besides taking care of the people who need us most, and wanting to make sure the Police Chief always have the upper hand, I like the town, that I reside, to “REPRESENT” us as a community to anyone that visits here.
We can start the process since according to the City website, the city has at its disposal $25 Million.
So, lets start the process by building a “WEBSITE” that represent “US” as a community. Right now, the current website is representing us as a “FULLY DYSFUNCTIONAL COMMUNITY.” It reminds me of “Rip Van Wrinkle,” sleeping and yet to wake up.
I, and the community need to see on the city website front page, our “Leaders” Pictures with Synopsis “BIG, AND BOLD, PAGES, because that website will inform people “WHO WE ARE.” Right now, our town is sleeping – the website tells the story.

These people are “MOST IMPORTANT” to everyone in this community – See if this can get done with that $25m. This would probably run $2,000, I’m sure we’ve got someone local to make that happen. This website “MUST” show strength in our community. “BRAINSTORM” and get this done.
All information must be updated and revised according to the times we are currently living in. In other words, clean up those “OLD” 3-inch “THREE RING BINDERS.” Review and Revise.
$25m should get “US” a BIG “BEAUTIFUL” sign: WELCOME TO SULLIVAN, MO.
I WANT TO THANK THE “CITY MAYOR” FOR ALLOWING MY HUSBAND TO SPEAK.

These things are more important than “haggling” over a “YARD SALE.” The yard sale season is almost over.
For those who say I’m an outsider, I spend most every penny I get locally, right here in town. I give to my community everyday. That translates to thousands of dollars each year to our local businesses. Places that I shop at, entertain at, dine at. etc., all locally. WHO’S THE OUTSIDER?
