Weather Alert Resource Map<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first step to getting connected to Emergency shelters, Food Pantries, Hospitals, Fire Stations, Police Departments, Health Departments, and WIC entities.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a time when so many families are forced to live the nomadic lifestyle<\/strong>, people are more than ever requiring tools that will enable them to find emergency resources quickly<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because Anita and I were forced (Due to certain family members’ ignorance<\/strong>) into experiencing this type of nomadic living<\/strong>, we tracked what we thought were important places to know as we were constantly moving. Even though we were homeless and struggling to make ends meet,<\/strong> we still found time to help others<\/strong>. In Colorado Springs, Anita and I as well as our youngest son<\/strong> volunteered at the local Food Pantry to assist with distributing food to struggling families<\/strong>. Also, in Pueblo, Colorado Anita raised $5,000 for Pueblo High School Wildcats Baseball Team<\/strong> (All while certain family members were attacking us, keeping us nomadic, sometimes bathing at the river)<\/strong>. Our story \u00a0will be told as I am preparing it, as it is similar to (Pete Buttigieg Story)<\/a><\/strong> – Through his story we finally know the terms of what happened to us “SWATTING” ,<\/strong> thanks to family members like Ron L. Williams, Cherly A. Allen, Lisa E. Best, Germaine Ward, Shirely Williams, Patrica Alsabrook, Sue Corn,<\/strong> just to name a few, our pain is 100 times greater than Mr. Buttigieg<\/strong>. I did send a note to Mr. Buttigieg to share with him and his family our heartfelt sympathy<\/strong>. Anita and I wanted Mr. Buttigieg to know that “You never overcome the pain”<\/strong>. You never forget.<\/strong> “SWATTING” destroys good families<\/strong>. It destroys credit and a person’s right to live respectfully<\/strong>. From 1992 – 2022 this happened to us.<\/strong> This will require the attention of congress to combat this behavior. “NO MORE SWATTING”<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through it all we knew where food pantries, public libraries, local hospitals, health departments, and local resource centers like Community Action entities were located<\/strong>. In essence we learned our surroundings quickly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because of the real struggles taking place right now in the United States<\/strong>, it is certain that emergency resource entities will be called upon much more than even they expected<\/strong> as our economy continues worsening.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because of these circumstances, we’ve created the “Shelter1st App<\/a>” <\/strong>equipped with a weather alert system. Design to help you quickly locate entities mentioned above<\/strong>. This map is simple and clear. Green light = Open, Red light = Close. Check the “Open Now Only” checkbox for those results.<\/strong> There are no banner ads or stuff like that.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Click an entity name on the “ERL” menu<\/strong> and a card pops up<\/strong>. The card produces Address, Phone, Get Directions, and Report Location.<\/strong> Driving directions does just that<\/strong>, it takes you to the emergency listing you’ve requested via google maps<\/strong> with location in place<\/strong>. If your location is not listed correctly, and\/or you want it removed, use the “Report Location” link<\/strong> and fill in that box and send it to us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While inside the map you will notice 2 links<\/strong>. “View Branson Outreach Disaster Plan,”<\/strong> and “Emergency Management Agency Locations”<\/strong> They are self explanatory. Click to view their content<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our map is set to show you the state location you are living in when you initially open it.<\/strong> Also, we have it set to re-open to the last state you leave<\/strong>. So, if you were looking in Florida when you exit the map, you will return to Florida when you reopen it.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

You also have the ability to help with this process. Click on the “Submit New Resource” button<\/strong> and send us the information you want listed. Important! – After you fill in your Organization Name, Street Address, City, and State information, immediately click the “Set Coordinates” button<\/strong>. That will then let you know your card coordinates are set and ready<\/strong>. Then proceed to fill in the rest of the form<\/strong> and click “Save Location”<\/strong> – that’s it. Anita or I will approve and\/or deny. We’ve set the form to only allow 1 submit in a 24-hour period.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This map started with Missouri only in mind. WE ARE EXPANDING<\/strong>. So, if your state is not listed at this time, you can believe we are working on it<\/strong>. Once your state is complete, it will show in the Select State menu list.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
