Today, I visited the “Crawford County”<\/strong> courthouse to answer allegations placed on my husband and I, by our homeowner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Court date is scheduled for November 10, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. in Steelville, MO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After court, I proceeded to process paperwork to subpoena several individuals from the City of Sullivan and witnesses<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One thing interesting to learn is that “CODE ENFORCEMENT”<\/strong> has “NO” ABILITY<\/strong> to enter the homes of individuals to monitor the damage<\/strong> that exist in some of these homes (prior to you moving in)<\/strong>. Therefore, when you take up residents in Sullivan, you basically have no rights to protect you as a renter.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

People, you “DON’T” have a “CODE ENFORCEMENT” <\/strong>team to assist you and your family in respect to what’s going on inside. NOTHING TO KEEP YOU SAFE. NO LAWS TO PROTECT YOU AS A RENTER.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, that brings me to these questions “CITY OF SULLIVAN”<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

WHAT TYPE OF CODE ENFORCEMENT EXIST NOW?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

WHAT SIZE “TEAM” DOES SULLIVAN CODE ENFORCEMENT HAVE – DOES IT HAVE A TEAM?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

WHAT IS THE BUDGET FOR CODE ENFORCEMENT?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There seems to be “NO SAFETY MECHANISM”<\/strong> in place to protect renters from “FIRST DIBBERS” damaged property. (Designed For People Like Us – “POOR PEOPLE”)<\/strong> – Low Income People. We keep their pockets lined.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is what I noticed today while in court. Over 90% of the cases called <\/strong>by the “Judge” were “NOT” in court<\/strong>. This tells me that the “PAIN” of “NOT” having a “TRUE” <\/strong>Code Enforcement Agency has “DESTROYED” faith in the people and community<\/strong>. I WATCHED TODAY, A MAN JUST THROW HIS HAND UP<\/strong>, HE STATED . “I JUST WANT TO GET THIS DONE” <\/strong> THAT WAS HEARTBREAKING FOR ME TO SEE.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why go to court when you feel you are going to loose “ANYWAY”?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let me tell you why.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you start going to court and began asking the important questions, the “Judge” will begin to understand exactly what is going on in the housing community<\/strong>. The City of Sullivan have put in place “ROAD BLOCKS”<\/strong> to prevent you from having your say. In some cases like mine – I CAN’T GET A WALK-TRHU – EVEN WHEN I REQUESTED<\/strong> “REPEATEDLY.” NOW WE ARE IN COURT ADRESSING RENT AND “GET THIS” —- “DAMAGES.” <\/strong> a “POWERFUL”<\/strong> keyword<\/strong>. Always thrusted upon the “POOR” <\/strong>people, the low hanging vine. “DAMAGES”<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

HAVING A CODE ENFORCEMENT WHO CAN ONLY ENFORCE “OUTSIDE”<\/strong> BUILDING CODES, places you and your family at “RISK” in terms of what’s going on inside your place of dwelling.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

THINK ABOUT IT – AS A RENTER<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can have leaking gas pipes<\/strong>, floors<\/strong> that are dangerous to walk on<\/strong>, bird holes “3-INCHES” thick and large<\/strong>r, pipes over 70 years old<\/strong>, clogging several times a year,<\/strong> roach infestation<\/strong>, stoves with backs hanging off<\/strong>, ceiling fan “FULL”<\/strong> of dirt – probably years of dirt, “CURLED” up linoleum<\/strong> (SO DANGEROUS YOU HAVE TO KEEP SHOES ON – EVEN WHEN RELAXING<\/strong>) – THIS IS SHAMEFUL<\/strong> – CODE ENFORCEMENT CAN’T DO A THING.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can be the cleanest person in the world<\/strong>, but when you are “POOR”<\/strong>, you have to accept what’s offered, and do the “BEST” you can to get help from the “HOMEOWNER”<\/strong> – BUT IN MOST CASES, TO NO AVAIL. “I FEEL YOUR PAIN”<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

MISS A RENT PAYMENT BECAUSE YOU ASK FOR REPAIRS “REPEATEDLY” – (OUT YOU GO – IN MY CASE “MINE” IS TIED TO A “YARD SALE” WITH A BUSINESS LICENSE).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

THEN THEY SAY, AND JUST SO YOU KNOW, I’M GOING TO LET THE JUDGE KNOW YOU “DAMAGED”<\/strong> MY PROPERTY. EVEN THOUGH I KNOW MY PROPERTY WAS NEVER “CARED” FOR FROM THE MOMENT I PURCHASED IT.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a “PASS ALONG”<\/strong> property for the people of the low hanging vine <\/strong>– the property only exist as long as POOR PEOPLE CONTINUE TO FEED THE VINE AND CODE ENFORCEMENT CONTINUE TO LOOK THE OTHER WAY – IF CODE ENFORCEMENT EVEN EXIST.<\/strong> With a “TRUE” <\/strong>enforcement team in place, you can be assured that the “VINE” the “POOR”<\/strong> people are “FEEDING”<\/strong> is “WILLING” <\/strong>to “RECIPROCATE.”<\/strong> (GIVE BACK)<\/strong> FIX UP “YOUR” PROPERTY.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

WE NEED A “REAL” CODE ENFORCEMENT TEAM<\/strong> THAT WILL MAKE SURE THE PEOPLE IN THIS COMMUNITY “ARE” SAFE.<\/strong> Roll up your sleeves,<\/strong> and make sure these properties are safe prior to allowing “POOR” people to move in.<\/strong> If a “TRUE” CODE ENFORCEMENT EXISTED<\/strong>, I’M PRETTY SURE THOSE LIVING AT MOTEL6 WOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO LIVE IN FILTH<\/strong> LIKE THAT. ENFORCEMENT CODES ARE<\/strong> BEING “MANGLED”<\/strong> DAILY AT THAT LOCATION.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

People are being “SHUFFLED” around in “BROKEN DOWN” “HOUSES” and “MOTELS” <\/strong>because the lack of having a “FULL FORCE CODE ENFORCEMENT UNIT” <\/strong>to help assure the health, safety, well-being AND rights of the people in this community.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

MAKE WALK THROUGHS MANDATORY<\/strong> – KEEP RENTERS AND HOMEOWNERS SAFE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

GOOD TASK FOR “CITY OF SULLIVAN” – BRAINSTORMING IDEAS<\/strong> – UPGRADE CODE ENFORCEMENT TEAM.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n
