
As many of you may already be aware, we have moved once again. Number “6”. We want to thank you for your support and also to remind you that the “BRANSON OUTREACH WARRIORS” will continue providing much needed services to those in need. EVERY SINGLE DAY as we seek fairness in this hotel/apartment scam game.
–KNOW THIS–
In spite of all the things we are going through, Anita got up at 4:30 a.m. this morning and still went to work. We did not get moved in until 10:00 p.m. Wanda B. and Cheryl H. were up with her every step of the way. “THAT’S WHAT WARRIORS DO.” –AND– THEY WILL BE ASSISTING FAMILIES IN THE COMMUNITY TODAY.
Even more impressive, Anita will be representing a young lady and her “FAMILY” via “zoom” regarding and eviction today.
—THE STRUGGLE IS REAL—
Currently, we are residing at what we call “HOME BASE.” We are at “AMERICA’S BEST VALUE INN.” In our 4 years of existence here in Branson, we have always returned to this place. Three (3) times to be exact.
—WHY?—
Although it doesn’t have the best appearance exterior wise, it’s what’s inside those rooms that’s important to Anita and me. Inside there is always a “FRESH” and “CLEAN” smell. –AND– although Anita and I always wipe down everything wherever we lay our heads, it is not necessary here. They take “PRIDE” in what they do. Things are always clean and they treat their guests with respect. More important, is that they recognized themselves as a hotel and they function in that lane. They are “NOT” trying to be an apartment, or any other “thought up” hotel entity. Therefore, everyone understands their guidelines.
Anita and I came to Branson with smiles on our faces knowing the possibilities this place has to offer the both of us in terms of retirement and enjoyment.
When we initially met the people who run “ELEVATE” almost 4 years ago, Anita and I made it clear to their staff what our plans were, and to this day our plans still remain the same.
Anita wanted to move forward with her outreach program, by doing so she continues helping those in need, and I have hopes of coaching a little league “WORLD SERIES” baseball team before I die.
–AND–
I am going to complete that task. The team will derive from the community in which Anita and I find housing, real housing. It could be Forsyth, Branson, Hollister, wherever we land is the city I will be coaching in.
I thought I would have been coaching this summer, but as you can tell by reading this blog, there are still many obstacles. So for now the “BRANSON OUTREACH WARRIORS” is clearing the path by encouraging and helping those in need to better themselves.
So, Anita and I wanted to send a shout out to “AMERICA’S BEST VALUE INN” for doing everything right.
I believe the “CITY” should “REWARD” entities like this one by giving a grant or tax deduction that would allow them to “PAINT” the exterior as I believe they would utilize the funding they receive to make this happen, it would also send a message that the CITY rewards those who strive to better our community appearances, and it will also bring the value up. “JUST MY THOUGHT”
These are prideful people and this is a prideful hotel.
–NOW CHECK THE MONEY HUSTLE OUT FROM ANOTHER LOCAL LOW END GRIPPER–
I am going to share this with you, as I feel you should know.
Anita went online yesterday and found a local hotel (I’m not going to mention a name because we did not reside there). However, we paid close to $300 for the room in advance.
“ONLINE” the rooms look “AMAZING” – BEAUTIFUL PHOTOS
Around 3:00 p.m. we arrived at the hotel location. Anita and I entered the office and spoke with a young lady who actually came from an area we once resided in, Citrus Heights, CA and she lived in Roseville, CA.
We completed all necessary hard copies of paperwork and she handed us the key. We walked into that room, and I want you to know this; the smell and whole “ATMOSPHERE” could knock a human being to their knees.
Anita did take photos and it’s “UNBELIEVABLE” what they give us “PO” folks.
Anita asked me to go in and “ask for a refund” as she was through. I proceeded back to the office and spoke kindly to the young lady.
I STATED: Look, I apologize but things are not like what we expected. We thought we were getting a larger room. (I did not want to tell her seriousness of the smell and filth as other guests were standing there)
SHE STATED: Let me check something out, I think those rooms are for “OUR LOCALS.” She asked me, what is wrong?
I STATED: The room has a very bad smell and things are just not what we thought. (I did not want to go in full detail but, I can sense that she understood.)
SHE STATED: I may have something else, because those rooms are for the locals.
I STATED: Okay, I will go and ask Anita to come in so you can explain it to her.
A while later Anita comes out with another “room” key. People, I just cannot explain it to you. The funk, the filth, the mold, was something no one should be living in. “NOT EVEN A DOG”
I went back into the office and asked kindly if she would just give us a refund. I stated, It’s not what your company is showing online. The pictures aren’t right.
SHE STATED: I know, I told the owner that, this place is old that is why it smells.
—THIS IS WHEN IT GOT CRAZY —
While seeking out other places, Anita receives a phone call. This call came from the “OWNER” herself, who was IN ANOTHER STATE OR COUNTRY and “ANGRY.” Angry because we did not choose to stay at her hotel “HOLE”. I felt she wanted that same money we had her manager refund to us. WE GAVE IT TO HER “ONLINE” LOOKIN FOR “GOLD” AND SHE GAVE US A HANDFUL OF “SHIT” AND GOT MAD BECAUSE WE DIDN’T LIKE THE SMELL, WHICH MEANT WE WERE “NOT” GOING TO BREAK BREAD IN THAT ROOM. NOT IN THAT SHIT HOLE.
Anita tried to explain to the lady that this place is NOT what is listed on the “INTERNET”; none of the pictures match the rooms we saw online. SO, Anita “SENT” her a link to “HER” THE OWNER’S ONLINE “PHOTOS” and then sent the owner “IMAGES” Anita had taken just minutes ago of that room. Anita said “DO YOU SEE THE DIFFERENCE”?
THE LADY FELT WE HAD NO RIGHT TO REFUSED THAT HOLE.
WE HAVE A RIGHT TO DO THAT. WE DID IT RESPECTFULLY AND SHE IS MAD.
That’s how they do us “PO” folks. GET THAT MONEY! – SHE, THE OWNER SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF HER PLACE, BUT YET SHE’S PROUD. It clearly shows that these low end places have a “KNACK” for setting up “PO” folks and taking the little money they have. – FOR A SHIT HOLE. – Makes matter worse, is they have it “LAID” out what belongs to “LOCALS” and what belongs to guests. Either way, from what I saw, both parties are getting screwed. “BIG TIME”
IT WAS AT THAT POINT ANITA SAID I’M CALLING MY PEOPLE OVER THERE AT “AMERICAS BEST VALUE INN”. WE CAN BREATHE CLEAN AIR HERE.
