JT EVICTION PROCESS UPDATE

Today, I visited the “Crawford County” courthouse to answer allegations placed on my husband and I, by our homeowner.

Court date is scheduled for November 10, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. in Steelville, MO.

After court, I proceeded to process paperwork to subpoena several individuals from the City of Sullivan and witnesses.

One thing interesting to learn is that “CODE ENFORCEMENT” has “NO” ABILITY to enter the homes of individuals to monitor the damage that exist in some of these homes (prior to you moving in). Therefore, when you take up residents in Sullivan, you basically have no rights to protect you as a renter.

People, you “DON’T” have a “CODE ENFORCEMENT” team to assist you and your family in respect to what’s going on inside. NOTHING TO KEEP YOU SAFE. NO LAWS TO PROTECT YOU AS A RENTER.

So, that brings me to these questions “CITY OF SULLIVAN”

WHAT TYPE OF CODE ENFORCEMENT EXIST NOW?

WHAT SIZE “TEAM” DOES SULLIVAN CODE ENFORCEMENT HAVE – DOES IT HAVE A TEAM?

WHAT IS THE BUDGET FOR CODE ENFORCEMENT?

There seems to be “NO SAFETY MECHANISM” in place to protect renters from “FIRST DIBBERS” damaged property. (Designed For People Like Us – “POOR PEOPLE”) – Low Income People. We keep their pockets lined.

This is what I noticed today while in court. Over 90% of the cases called by the “Judge” were “NOT” in court. This tells me that the “PAIN” of “NOT” having a “TRUE” Code Enforcement Agency has “DESTROYED” faith in the people and community. I WATCHED TODAY, A MAN JUST THROW HIS HAND UP, HE STATED . “I JUST WANT TO GET THIS DONE” THAT WAS HEARTBREAKING FOR ME TO SEE.

Why go to court when you feel you are going to loose “ANYWAY”?

Let me tell you why.

If you start going to court and began asking the important questions, the “Judge” will begin to understand exactly what is going on in the housing community. The City of Sullivan have put in place “ROAD BLOCKS” to prevent you from having your say. In some cases like mine – I CAN’T GET A WALK-TRHU – EVEN WHEN I REQUESTED “REPEATEDLY.” NOW WE ARE IN COURT ADRESSING RENT AND “GET THIS” —- “DAMAGES.” a “POWERFUL” keyword. Always thrusted upon the “POOR” people, the low hanging vine. “DAMAGES”

HAVING A CODE ENFORCEMENT WHO CAN ONLY ENFORCE “OUTSIDE” BUILDING CODES, places you and your family at “RISK” in terms of what’s going on inside your place of dwelling.

THINK ABOUT IT – AS A RENTER

You can have leaking gas pipes, floors that are dangerous to walk on, bird holes “3-INCHES” thick and larger, pipes over 70 years old, clogging several times a year, roach infestation, stoves with backs hanging off, ceiling fan “FULL” of dirt – probably years of dirt, “CURLED” up linoleum (SO DANGEROUS YOU HAVE TO KEEP SHOES ON – EVEN WHEN RELAXING) – THIS IS SHAMEFUL – CODE ENFORCEMENT CAN’T DO A THING.

You can be the cleanest person in the world, but when you are “POOR”, you have to accept what’s offered, and do the “BEST” you can to get help from the “HOMEOWNER” – BUT IN MOST CASES, TO NO AVAIL. “I FEEL YOUR PAIN”

MISS A RENT PAYMENT BECAUSE YOU ASK FOR REPAIRS “REPEATEDLY” – (OUT YOU GO – IN MY CASE “MINE” IS TIED TO A “YARD SALE” WITH A BUSINESS LICENSE).

THEN THEY SAY, AND JUST SO YOU KNOW, I’M GOING TO LET THE JUDGE KNOW YOU “DAMAGED” MY PROPERTY. EVEN THOUGH I KNOW MY PROPERTY WAS NEVER “CARED” FOR FROM THE MOMENT I PURCHASED IT.

This is a “PASS ALONG” property for the people of the low hanging vine – the property only exist as long as POOR PEOPLE CONTINUE TO FEED THE VINE AND CODE ENFORCEMENT CONTINUE TO LOOK THE OTHER WAY – IF CODE ENFORCEMENT EVEN EXIST. With a “TRUE” enforcement team in place, you can be assured that the “VINE” the “POOR” people are “FEEDING” is “WILLING” to “RECIPROCATE.” (GIVE BACK) FIX UP “YOUR” PROPERTY.

WE NEED A “REAL” CODE ENFORCEMENT TEAM THAT WILL MAKE SURE THE PEOPLE IN THIS COMMUNITY “ARE” SAFE. Roll up your sleeves, and make sure these properties are safe prior to allowing “POOR” people to move in. If a “TRUE” CODE ENFORCEMENT EXISTED, I’M PRETTY SURE THOSE LIVING AT MOTEL6 WOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO LIVE IN FILTH LIKE THAT. ENFORCEMENT CODES ARE BEING “MANGLED” DAILY AT THAT LOCATION.

People are being “SHUFFLED” around in “BROKEN DOWN” “HOUSES” and “MOTELS” because the lack of having a “FULL FORCE CODE ENFORCEMENT UNIT” to help assure the health, safety, well-being AND rights of the people in this community.

MAKE WALK THROUGHS MANDATORYKEEP RENTERS AND HOMEOWNERS SAFE
